At CES 2025, Valerian showcased their flagship VisionMaster Max projector CES 2025. Over the past several months, Valerion has generated tons of industry buzz thanks to its record-breaking Kickstarter campaign in 2024. They used CES 2025 to present the VisionMaster MAX alongside the rest of the VisionMaster series lineup, consisting of the Pro 2, Pro, Plus 2, and Plus models.
Each model comes in a unique color, adding a touch of personalization to the product. The attention to detail also extends to the packaging, with color manuals and aesthetically pleasing carrying cases enhancing the overall unboxing experience.
Valerion’s CES booth provided a comprehensive showcase of the versatility of the VisionMaster Series. The team set up different environments, including home theater simulations and gaming setups, to highlight the projector’s adaptability.
The VisionMaster MAX, positioned as the most advanced offering in Valerion’s portfolio, sets a new benchmark for high-end home theater systems. The unit is a 4K Ultra HD that can deliver 3000 ISO lumens, making the VisionMaster Max suitable for a variety of lighting conditions, from dim home theaters to moderately lit living rooms. One of its standout features is its RGB laser light source, which enables it to cover 110% of the REC 2020 color gamut, offering true-to-life color reproduction.
The VisionMaster MAX also features a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, enhanced by Valerion’s proprietary Enhanced Black Level (EBL) technology. This feature deepens shadow details and reduces light leakage, ensuring accurate contrast even in dark scenes. The combination of brightness, contrast, and color accuracy allows the VisionMaster MAX to project up to 300 inches of vivid visuals, making it versatile enough for a variety of room sizes and viewing needs. In their booth, Valerian demonstrated the VisionMaster Max on a massive 220-inch screen using IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision content, which looked very good.
At the Valerion booth, CES attendees experienced these specifications firsthand through a series of interactive demonstrations. One highlight included a side-by-side comparison of the VisionMaster MAX and other projectors, emphasizing its ability to maintain image fidelity in varying environments. Its support for modern HDR standards, including Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, and Filmmaker Mode, ensures that content is displayed with the creator's intent, maintaining high levels of detail and contrast in every frame.
Valerion also demonstrated the VisionMaster MAX’s user-friendly features. Integrated with Google TV+, the projector provides direct access to popular streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube. Additional compatibility with AirPlay2, Miracast, and Chromecast makes streaming from external devices seamless. These built-in functionalities eliminate the need for separate streaming hardware, simplifying the entertainment setup.
Another notable feature of the VisionMaster MAX is its advanced OpticFlex Lens System, which includes a vertical lens shift and dynamic iris. These technologies enhance flexibility during installation and allow the projector to automatically adjust its brightness and contrast depending on the content. This system also optimizes the picture quality by ensuring edge-to-edge sharpness and dynamic brightness levels, creating a consistently high-quality viewing experience.
Gaming enthusiasts found much to appreciate in the VisionMaster MAX, thanks to its ultra-low latency. At 1080p resolution, the input lag is just 4ms, while at 4K, it remains at an impressively low 15ms. The projector also supports a 240Hz refresh rate, providing smooth, responsive visuals ideal for competitive and casual gaming alike. There was a gaming setup in the Valerion booth to test out the VisionMaster Series ultra-responsive performance.
While Valerion wanted to highlight the VisionMaster Max, they also demonstrated the Vision Master Pro 2, which we are currently reviewing. I've been quite impressed with the performance of the Pro 2 regarding black level, color reproduction, and overall quality. I can confidently say that the VisionMaster Pro 2 is one of best Lifestyle projectors that I have reviewed.
While both the VisionMaster MAX ($3999 SRP) and VisionMaster Pro 2 ($3499 SRP) deliver excellent brightness and color reproduction, the VisionMaster MAX retails $5000 more. Stepping up to the Vision Master MAX adds a more advanced OpticFlex lens system with a Dynamic Iris, which improves the black level when viewing dark scenes while maintaining brightness when viewing bright scenes. The VisionMaster MAX also includes +/- 55% vertical lens shift so you can align the image to your screen without keystone correction.
The VisionMaster Pro 2 is a slightly more affordable alternative with strong performance. However, if you are a projection enthusiast who craves deep blacks and installation flexibility, the Dynamic Iris and the Vertical Lens Shift found on VisionMaster MAX are worthwhile upgrades.

Alongside the VisionMaster MAX, Valerion showcased the other models in its lineup, such as the VisionMaster Pro 2, Plus 2, and Plus. These projectors cater to diverse user needs, from budget-conscious buyers to cinephiles. While these models lacked some of the flagship features of the MAX, they offered robust performance, ensuring there was an option for every consumer segment. For example, Valerion demonstrated a portable “Backyard Theater” system emphasizing VisionMaster outdoor entertainment usability.
Valerian also showcased their beautifully designed stands, which are available for purchase on their website. These stands are functional and add an artistic touch to any setup. They are priced at $179 and compatible with all Valerian projectors, offering a stylish and practical solution for home entertainment enthusiasts.
Lastly, Valerion showed off an interesting External Lens Concept, a prototype designed to expand the projector’s possible throw ratios to further enhance its installation flexibility.
