Optoma ZU506T-W Professional Installation Laser Projector Review- Performance

The Optoma ZU506T-W displays a great image on the wall. It appears very bright. There were times sifting through the modes where I wasn’t totally sure it was 5000 Lumens bright. Projectors that use Laser Phosphor light sources are very consistent when it comes to the output they do not vary a lot like their lamp-based predecessors.You can see a list of the modes below for the Optoma ZU506T-W.

In bright mode, the projector I was evaluating measured 4380 Lumens. Which is not far off from the 5000-lumen specification.Presentation mode while it looked great was lower in brightness. This often happens as Bright mode will hit the specification, but as you tune the colors you lose some of that brightness in the calibration process. Often times, while you lose some white brightness, the increase in color saturation will make the image appear just as bright.

I found the noise coming off the ZU506T-W to be very minimal. I was surprised to see the specification was 36db and 30db in low power mode. Perhaps because of the side to side airflow, it was less noticeable. I did not find the fan noise to be a distraction at all. Especially if you need audio, the 10W dual stereo speakers drown it out without hesitation.

When you look at this specification, you should realize that 36db is about the noise level in your average quiet conference room. Having the ZU506T-W will add a great image and you won’t have to talk over it. It will be business as usual.
