Optoma has introduced the HCPro-4400, a cutting-edge home theater projector designed to deliver an immersive cinematic experience. This model combines 4K UHD resolution, dual laser technology, HDR10+, and FILMMAKER MODE to deliver an outstanding home cinema experience. The HC-Pro4400 is also one of the first traditional ceiling-mountable home theater projectors to support Dolby Vision.

Utilizing a dual laser light source with red and blue lasers, this projector can deliver 5000 lumens of brightness while reproducing up to 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. With a brightness rating of 5,000 lumens, the HCPro-4400 is suitable for home theaters with ambient light, ensuring clear visibility without requiring complete darkness. A dynamic contrast ratio of 3,200,000:1 allows for deep blacks and high levels of shadow detail, making it ideal for both bright and dark scenes.

The HCPro-4400 supports a wide range of HDR formats including HDR10, HLG and HDR10+.  While many home theater projectors support HDR formats, the HCPro-4400 is among the first ceiling-mountable home theater models to integrate Dolby Vision which optimizes each HDR frame, dynamically adjusting brightness, contrast, and color to produce a more lifelike image.

FILMMAKER MODE, scheduled to be available via an over-the-air update in Q3 2025, preserves the director’s creative intent by maintaining accurate color temperature, contrast, and motion settings. This mode disables unnecessary image processing to ensure that movies and TV shows appear as originally intended by their creators.

Additionally, Optoma's PureEngine Ultra technology enhances the viewing experience by improving color saturation, luminance, and detail. Its PureMotion frame interpolation eliminates motion blur and judder, delivering smooth and fluid visuals, particularly in fast-paced action scenes. The projector is also ISF-certified, offering ISF Day and ISF Night calibration modes for optimized performance in different lighting conditions.

Beyond its visual capabilities, the HCPro-4400 includes advanced audio features. It supports eARC passthrough, allowing Dolby Atmos and other high-quality object-based audio formats to be transmitted to external audio systems. Additionally, the projector is WiSA SoundSend Certified, enabling seamless wireless audio transmission with minimal latency. These features allow users to experience high-quality, immersive sound when paired with a compatible sound system.

The HCPro-4400 offers flexible connectivity options to accommodate various setups. It includes one HDMI 2.1 port and two HDMI 2.0 ports, supporting high-bandwidth video transmission for high-resolution content and gaming. Additional connectivity options include three USB-A ports, an RJ45 LAN port, RS232, an S/PDIF audio output, and two 12V trigger ports for system automation.

For gaming enthusiasts, the HCPro-4400 offers Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) to reduce input lag. It supports 4K at 60Hz with an input lag of 20-millisecond and 1080p at 240Hz with an ultra-low 8.4-millisecond response time. These features ensure a smooth gaming experience, making the projector suitable for both movie lovers and gamers who demand responsive performance.

Installation flexibility is a key feature of the HCPro-4400. It includes a 1.6x manual zoom, vertical and horizontal lens shift, and a robust throw ratio of 1.2:1 to 1.92:1. These specifications allow for precise image alignment and make it adaptable to different room sizes.

Additionally, the projector supports geometric correction features, including four-corner correction and keystone adjustments, ensuring a properly aligned image even on non-standard surfaces. Its 360-degree projection capability allows for creative installations beyond traditional home theater setups.

The HCPro-4400 is available for purchase at an estimated street price of $5,999. It can be found at major retailers, including B&H Photo and Projector Screen.
