PROS

  • 3300 rated lumens and measured to produce over 3500 in Dynamic mode, and over 2800 for Theater mode – a bright mode that looks very good.
  • Extremely good color handling for a business projector
  • Advanced wired networking
  • Control Pad can be mounted next to the whiteboard for easy operation of the projector and making presentations
  • Exceptionally sharp image for an ultra short throw projector
  • Excellent color in the better picture modes and adequate color even in the least accurate picture mode
  • Extensive built in interactive features including both pens and finger touch for user inputs
  • Lot’s of supporting interactive software, templates, Apps
  • MAC and Windows compatible Interactivity features are numerous, with some very special ones
  • iOS and Android apps for BYOD use and interactivity
  • Of course, ultra short throw design, so as not to blind presenter, reduce installation costs
  • Powerful 16 watt speaker system to cover all but very large conference rooms
  • Audio out to easily interface with a room audio system or external powered speakers
  • Very good menu structure
  • Extensive, advanced networking, including Crestron RoomView compatible, capable of network (PC free) presentations, push notifications, monitoring…
  • Easy wireless networking, via supplied plug-in Wi-Fi module
  • The 1430Wi allows up to 16 devices to interface with it simultaneously in support of local or long distance collaboration

Cons

  • Some potential limitations using Mac DisplayPort/HDMI
  • User Guide (manual) is on disk.  If ever there was a projector where a hard copy manual would be helpful, thanks to the numerous features, this is it.
  • The wall mount is an optional, extra cost ($209), accessory while Epson does supply a wall mount with some other, less expensive, interactive models
  • Control Pad could have a separate SD card slot
  • Lacks a microphone input
  • Ultra short nature requires precise placement of projector to fill the projection surface accurately (no zoom, but no ultra short throws have optical zoom
